San Jose dream-pop rockers Frantic Romantic released their newest single “Celestina” today with an awesome animated video created by lead singer Mr. Kerosene!
Middle Tennessee Music premiered the video with a raving review stating:
“California based rockers Frantic Romantic emanate the essence (and a charming nostalgia) for the magical process of music discovery during an era now simply referred to as the ’90s. They are that band you stumbled upon in a shitty dive bar one random night with whom you uncontrollably fell in love with. Their songs were included on those mixtapes you carefully curated and handed to your girlfriend(s). They are the band you tried to emulate with your middle school buddies during talent shows. They are rock and roll from a gradually distancing era of music history that many of us hold near and dear to our hearts.“
In honor of Dia De Los Muertos, San Jose dream-pop rockers Frantic Romantic released their second single and music video today with an awesome premiere in No Depression magazine! Writer Mary Roberts states:
“With Alt-Pop hooks, the group easily wins over your heart and your ears which does the soul good. Vibrant melodies take over the track as it captures the nature of the band and also the video. Bound to win you over, Frantic Romantic quickly proves they have staying power in the modern era.“
The band was lucky enough to get another write-up via Music Existence, who’s writer Stephen Vicino wrote:
”The video not only shows the essence of the group in song, but also as a visual masterpiece. Their sonically alluring sound blends perfectly with a strong melodic flow that resonates throughout. The video perfectly captures the essence of the song with solid instrumentation and intriguing vocals which helps to convey the story of the piece.”
San Jose’s new dream-pop rockers Frantic Romantic released their first single “At Night” today with an awesome music video! Thanks to PureGrainAudio for debuting the band’s moody song about solitude, as well as the incredible artwork of their upcoming album.
Lead singer Mr. Kerosene talks about the making of the video in the article, stating:
”We really wanted to play into the title and the mood of the song, which is basically bleak solitude. The whole band is separated, playing this song in their version of the same room.”
Get It On Vinyl wrote the most amazing review of "In Harms Way" by The Go Ahead, stating "their synchronicity is as vibrant and beautiful as a freshly blooming flower after the rain" and "'In Harms Way' truly establishes their knack for capturing a mood and riding that wave of feelings into lyrical finesse."
Read the whole review and see why they say "The Go Ahead is an undiscovered gem with a charismatic sound and style."
Thanks to Consequence of Sound for premiering The Go Ahead's new video for their newest single “On My Side.” The video features the awe-inspiring hoop talents of Iranian performer Artoor Voskanian and was filmed by Frank Door of We Will Shoot You.

The Go Ahead was also featured in Infectious Magazine for their 'The Other Gig' series earlier this month.
“Many bands think that just posting on social media is enough to promote the show,” shares Barbara Wahli of booking agency Barb Rocks. “Few take the time to go to other shows with flyers in hand to network and promote their upcoming show. They forget that you need to go out and meet people to get new people interested in their band and attend shows.”
San Francisco music blog The Bay Bridged interviewed Oakland electro-funk trio Planet Booty about their upcoming show with Flynt Flossy and Turquoise Jeep at Great American Music Hall on Wed May 24th. The interview with frontman Dylan Germick dives deep into the band's new album, their upcoming tours across the Southwest and Pacific Northwest, and their successful showcases at SXSW earlier this year. "We can't take credit for calling Barbara Wahli the queen of the South Bay scene; it was actually a DJ on FCC Free Radio. We're not even sure it's a great title for her, as she's about the farthest thing from a diva we can imagine. But it is admittedly catchier and more glamorous than what we'd say, which is simply that Barbara Wahli is the hardest-working woman in South Bay rock. Not only does she promote Barb Rocks shows all around the South Bay, but she's also a real advocate for local bands. If she hears something she really likes, she will champion that band, and in a few cases (A Four Star Affair, Drop Dead Sixty, Letters Make Words) even manage them. Her energy is infectious, and her ear for local talent remarkable."
